Dr Darren Hutchinson, founder of Fetal Heart Melbourne, is a Melbourne-based Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist with expertise in advanced fetal cardiac imaging and non-invasive paediatric cardiac imaging. He completed his medical degree with Honours at Monash University before undertaking specialist training in Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging at The Royal Children’s Hospital. He subsequently completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Fetal Cardiology at Stollery Children’s Hospital Canada

Dr Hutchinson is the Head of Fetal Cardiology Unit at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Paediatric Cardiologist at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Lead Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

His clinical practice is focused on the diagnosis and management of fetal and paediatric heart conditions, with particular interests in early fetal cardiac assessment, advanced fetal echocardiography, and non-invasive cardiac imaging in children.

Dr Hutchinson takes great pride, and responsibility, in caring for families where there is a suspected or known fetal cardiac condition and walks with them through their journey no matter what the path is with respect and warmth.
